Enjoyable, interesting and informative walking you through the darker side of Ancoats with the amiable and knowledgeable Clancy Nook. We took a two hour private walking tour through Victorian urban history discovering crime, debauchery and a number of lighter moments. Would definitely recommend.

What a fantastic day! Clancy’s encyclopedic knowledge made the Ancoats Victorian Crime Walk both gripping and deeply informative. The tales were fascinating and grisly, weaving in the socio-political context that brought Victorian Manchester to life—better than any history lesson I ever had! I also discovered parts of Ancoats I’d never seen, each with its own incredible story.

I attended the pilot of Clancy’s new crime tour of Ancoats. It was an enjoyable and interesting experience which I highly recommend to those new to, or familiar with, Manchester and its history. Clancy has clearly spent considerable time researching the archives to construct several fascinating insights into working-class life in the Victorian era.

A Tale of Two Cities
Just back from Clancy's 'A Tale of Two Cities' and very impressed! I’ve done several Manchester walking tours, and this is probably the best. Fun, educational, and incredibly real at times, it follows two characters from opposite ends of society—an engaging way to learn. Plenty of time for photos and questions, which many tours lack. Highly recommend the Clancy Nook experience. Thanks, Clancy!

We attended the 'True Crime in Ancoates Tour' and we loved every minute, the through and consideration that has gone into preparing the tour, the research and detail was all very well thought out and made this tour a really enjoyable and fun afternoon. Clancy himself is a great guy and we will be happy to try another tour very soon.

A Tale of Two Cities
I was at a bit of a loose end and went on Clancy's A Tale of Two Cities walk...I was so glad I did. It became obvious that he had done a lot of research on the history of the area which made the characters he described seem so real. Clancy's delivery and style were very engaging and the whole thing was thoroughly worth doing. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely tour through 2 centuries of life in Whalley Range. Clancy really brought it to life with details not usually found in the guidebooks. He was a very professional guide, animated, very audible, careful of our safety, warm and friendly, even when interrupted by a passer-by. Thank you, Clancy!
